A couple of other thoughts that I wanted to get to in my talk.

Search Engine Optimization has the same timeframe as weight loss. There are no quick fixes. If you want to lose weight, you have to apply slow methodical effort of exercise and eating less. SEO takes a while to accomplish. You can not expect immediate results.

Finally, I aimed this talk with the beginner in mind. I assumed some level of blogging knowledge. Consequently, I focused the presentation on SEO on-page actions. In other words, they are what you can do on your own site. There are Search Engine Optimization tactics to use off-site too. I'll save that for another talk or post.

See you all soon.

Hi Scott,

Great class. Question for you that maybe you could help with. I've created a Schaumburg Park District fan page on facebook. In order to link to Twitter, Facebook prompts me to sign up for a personal Facebook profile. Any way around this? I don't want any personal profiles associated with the Park District fan page.

Thanks.

That seems quite hard to admit that we can't have it all. It's sort of in contrast to what you hear everyone else say. Sadly, I think he might be right!
